DreamCloud Mattress Review Purple Mattress Fibromyalgia
I am super excited about today’s review since I’ll be having a look at one of the latest beds on the market: the DreamCloud hybrid mattress.
This bad boy unites high-density foam with encased coils for a sleeping experience that promises to be as luxurious as it is supportive.
To determine how well this hybrid lives up to that goal, I’ve put it through a series of tests to measure its overall comfort and ascertain what type of sleeper would benefit from it .
Read below for my full review of the DreamCloud mattress. Purple Mattress Fibromyalgia
The DreamCloud features an astoundingly tall profile for a mattress in a whopping 15 inches. The eight-layer construction is broken down into foam and wrapped coil components, which operate in tandem to provide the sleeper with a firm innerspring lift and lots of comfy pressure relief.
Given all the distinct materials at play here, I am stoked to dive in these layers to see how well they interact with one another.
Cover: The cover is composed of a cashmere and polyester blend for a soft texture up top. It also is quilted with memory foam, which provides the sleeper with instant pressure relief.
Foam Layers: Below the cover, you will locate three thin layers of foam. When these segments are soft to the touch and supply some satisfying sinkage, they also respond quickly to pressure, so you won’t feel stuck in the mattress.
The center of these three layers is especially significant for the temperature regulation of the DreamCloud as it is comprised of perforated latex foam. Latex in general is great at dissipating heat, so the inclusion of these little ventilations supports even more cooling.
Pocketed Coils: The bottom layer of foam transitions into the firmer support section of the mattress, which is composed of a pocketed coil system.
These individually wrapped springs give the mattress excellent bounce and help to disperse motion throughout the structure.
The coils also aid in controlling temperatures as the distances between them allow for steady air flow.
Foundation Layer: A thin layer of high-density polyfoam lies at the underside of the mattress, with all the most important use of cradling the pocketed coils and supplying a solid base for the entire.
After shooting a look at the construction of the DreamCloud, let us chat concerning the firmness and texture .
I started off by applying light hand pressure to the mattress and immediately felt the soft foam of this quilted cover and top layers.
My hands sunk into the material and I could feel some instant pressure relief. Pushing in farther, I started to interact with the pocketed coils below and experienced a nicelift from springs.
At this time I’d love to recall that individuals of different body types and shapes will feel firmness otherwise.
As opposed to giving just my opinion on the general firmness level of the DreamCloud, I enlisted three others to present their view also.
I personally gave the bed a 7.5 and agree with the remainder of the testers that it is definitely a good bed.
As you’ll feel some slight sinking from the plush foam top layers, the individually wrapped coils in the center will lift you from the bed and make you feel like you are sleeping on top of the mattress. Purple Mattress Fibromyalgia
Instead of just describing the feel of this DreamCloud to you, I wished to provide a visual representation of where somebody may feel pressure points form while lying on it.
To do so, I placed a pressure map along with the mattress and lied on my backside, and stomach. You can see the results on the picture under where pressure is represented from blue (low pressure) to red (high pressure).
Back: Once on my back, my weight was evenly distributed across the mattress, so I didn’t feel like I was sinking into the mattress whatsoever .
The quilted cover supplied quality relief in my lumbar area and the pocketed coils helped to lift me from the bed and keep my spine in alignment.
Side: As you can see in the graph above, after I rolled onto my side, I began to sense pressure forming in my shoulders and buttocks.
However, I felt supported and the top foam layers alleviated what discomfort I felt in this position.
Stomach: Shifting over to my stomach, I thought the DreamCloud did a great job of lifting my hips up and from the bed, which is key for stomach sleepers.
I have to mention that I handled to transition across these places with relative ease. Purple Mattress Fibromyalgia
If you plan on sharing your bed with a partner, you will wish to learn what it will feel like when another person crawls out of bed in the morning or tosses around in night.
This next test is meant to demonstrate the high level of movement that’s detectable from 1 side of the mattress into the other.
To illustrate this motion transfer, I dropped a 10 lb. Steel ball from peaks of 4 inches, 8 inches and 12 inches and measured the disturbance it caused: the bigger the lines, the larger the disturbance. The DreamCloud indicates a little bit of disturbance for the 4 inch drop, which simulates someone rolling around and adjusting their position on the opposite side of the mattress.
While the 8 and 12 inch drops show slightly bigger spikes, I’d still look at the mattress to be fairly good at isolating movement, as a result of the individually wrapped coils.
This means you’re unlikely to be too disturbed by your bed partner’s midnight shimmies, making this a great alternative for couples.
When purchasing a new bed, most people want to know whether they will feel like they’re sinking”to” the mattress or laying”on top” of it.
To picture this sinkage, I put four balls of varying sizes and densities (a 6 pound medicine ball, a 10 pound steel ball, a 50 pound medicine ball, and a 100 pound medicine ball) on the mattress and measured how far they compressed the surface.
The variations in size, density and weight are supposed to simulate different body parts and different sized sleepers.
- 6 lb medicine ball: 1.5 inches of sinkage.
- 10 lb steel ball: 2 inches of sinkage.
- 50 pound medication ball: 4.5 inches of sinkage.
- 100 lb medicine ball: 5.5 inches of sinkage.
While you’re going to experience some instant sinkage in the soft foam on top, by the time you sink through these layers, you will hit the wrapped coils and texture fantastic support.
This combo will appeal to a wide range of sleepers, but will satisfy back and stomach sleepers particularly. Purple Mattress Fibromyalgia
If you’re going to share your bed with a spouse and need to use the entire surface area of the mattress, it is going to be crucial for you to consider the amount of edge support it will provide.
I am especially interested to see if the DreamCloud will endure the same fate as other compressed bed-in-a-box mattresses that neglect to meet the border support of more traditional innerspring models.Lying in my spine, I sensed supported at the edge of the bed as I did in the middle .
Pressing closer to the side, I experienced a little compression because of the highest foam layers, but nothing too spectacular. Shifting to my side, I once again noticed compression in the foam layers, but it did not carry over to the wrapped coil system under.
This system, along with the polyfoam border support around the mattress, did a excellent job of supporting my weight. A lot of foam mattresses experience intense compression in this place, but the DreamCloud actually held up fairly well.
Warranty: DreamCloud’s Everlong warranty is a lifetime guarantee.
Bonus: One free cleaning with purchase.
