DreamCloud Mattress Review Purple Mattress Queen Weight
I am super excited about now’s review because I’ll be having check out a couple of of this newest beds on the market: the DreamCloud hybrid mattress.
This bad boy combines high-density foam with encased coils for a sleeping experience that promises to be as luxurious as it is supportive.
To determine how nicely this hybrid lives up to that goal, I have put it through a series of tests to measure its overall relaxation and ascertain what sort of sleeper would benefit from it most.
Read below for my full review of this DreamCloud mattress. Purple Mattress Queen Weight
The DreamCloud features an astoundingly tall profile for a mattress at a whopping 15 inches. The eight-layer structure is broken down into foam and wrapped coil components , which operate in tandem to supply the sleeper with a firm innerspring lift and lots of comfy pressure relief.
Given all the different materials at play here, I’m stoked to dive in these layers to see how well they interact with one another.
Cover: The cover is made up of a cashmere and polyester blend for a soft feel up top. Additionally, it is quilted with memory foam, which provides the sleeper with instant pressure relief.
Foam Layers: Below the cover, you will locate three thin layers of foam. When those segments are soft to the touch and supply some pleasing sinkage, they also respond quickly to stress, so you won’t feel stuck in the mattress.
The middle of the three layers is especially significant for the temperature regulation of the DreamCloud as it is comprised of perforated latex foam. Latex in general is great at dissipating heat, so the addition of these tiny ventilations supports even more cooling.
Pocketed Coils: The bottom layer of foam transitions into the firmer support section of the mattress, which can be written of a pocketed coil system.
These individually wrapped springs give the mattress excellent bounce and help to disperse motion throughout the structure.
The coils also aid in regulating temperatures as the distances between them allow for steady air flow.
Foundation Layer: A thin coating of high-density polyfoam lies in the base of the mattress, with the main use of cradling the pocketed coils and supplying a solid foundation for the entire.
After taking a look at the construction of the DreamCloud, let’s speak concerning the firmness and feel.
My hands sunk into the material and I could feel some instant pressure relief. Pushing in further, I began to interact with the pocketed coils under and experienced a nice lift from springs.
At this point I’d love to recall that people of distinct body types and shapes will feel firmness otherwise .
Rather than giving only my opinion on the overall firmness level of the DreamCloud, I enlisted three other people to present their opinion also.
This provides you a better sense of the firmness range you can expect from the mattress.
Personally, I gave the bed a 7.5 and agree with the rest of the testers that it’s definitely a solid bed.
While you will feel some slight sinking out of the plush foam top layers, the individually wrapped coils at the center will lift you out of the bed and make you feel like you are sleeping on top of the mattress. Purple Mattress Queen Weight
Instead of simply describing the feel of this DreamCloud to you, I wished to provide a visual representation of where someone may feel pressure points shape while lying on it.
To do this, I put a pressure map on top of the mattress and lied on my backside, and stomach.
Back: Once in my spine, my weight was evenly dispersed across the mattress, so I didn’t feel like I was sinking to the bed at all .
The quilted cover supplied quality relief in my lumbar area and the pocketed coils helped to lift me from the mattress and keep my spine in alignment.
Side: As you can see in the chart above, after I rolled onto my side, I began to sense pressure forming at my shoulders and buttocks .
However, I felt supported and the top foam layers alleviated what distress I felt in this place.
Stomach: Switching over to my stomach, I thought the DreamCloud did a good job of lifting my hips up and from the mattress, which is key for stomach sleepers.
I should mention that I managed to transition across these positions with relative ease. Purple Mattress Queen Weight
If you strategy on sharing your bed with a spouse , you will want to know what it will feel like when another person crawls out of bed in the morning or tosses around through the night.
This second test is meant to demonstrate the high level of motion that is detectable from one side of the mattress into the other.
To illustrate this movement transfer, I dropped a 10 pounds. Steel ball from peaks of 4 inches, 8 inches and 12 inches and measured the disturbance it caused: the larger the lines, the larger the disturbance. The DreamCloud indicates a little amount of disturbance for the 4 inch drop, which simulates someone rolling around and adjusting their position on the other side of the mattress.
While the 8 and 12 inch drops show slightly bigger spikes, I’d nevertheless consider the mattress to be fairly good at isolating movement , as a consequence of the individually wrapped coils.
This usually means that you’re unlikely to be overly disturbed by your mattress mate’s midnight shimmies, which makes this a great option for couples.
If buying a new mattress, most people wish to know whether they’ll feel as though they’re sinking”into” the mattress or laying”on top” of it.
To visualize this sinkage, I put four balls of varying sizes and densities (a 6 pound medicine ball, a 10 lb steel ball, a 50 pound medicine ball, and a 100 pound medicine ball) on the mattress and quantified how much they compressed the surface.
The variations in size, density and weight are supposed to simulate different body parts and different sized sleepers.
- 6 lb medicine ball: 1.5 inches of sinkage.
- 10 pound steel ball: 2 inches of sinkage.
- 50 lb medicine ball: 4.5 inches of sinkage.
- 100 pound medication ball: 5.5 inches of sinkage.
While you’re going to experience some instant sinkage from the soft foam on top, by the time you sink through these layers, you will hit on the wrapped coils and feel fantastic support.
This combo will appeal to a wide range of sleepers, but will suit back and stomach sleepers specifically . Purple Mattress Queen Weight
If you’re likely to share your bed with a spouse and need to utilize the whole surface area of the mattress, it is going to be crucial that you consider the amount of border support it will provide.
I am particularly interested to see if the DreamCloud will endure the same fate as other compressed bed-in-a-box mattresses that neglect to meet the edge support of more conventional innerspring models.Lying in my back, I felt supported in the edge of the mattress as I did in the center.
Pressing closer to the side, I experienced a small compression due to the highest foam layers, but nothing overly spectacular. Changing to my side, I once again noticed compression in the foam layers, but it didn’t carry over to the wrapped coil system under.
This system, collectively with the polyfoam edge support round the mattress, did a great job of supporting my weight. In this position, I wanted to simulate what it would feel like to be sitting on the bed in the morning when you are lacing up your shoes and getting ready for the day. A lot of foam mattresses experience severe compression in this place, but the DreamCloud actually held up fairly well.
