DreamCloud Mattress Review Best Bed To Buy A Boyd Air Mattress
I am super excited about the present review since I’ll be taking check out one of this newest beds on the market: the DreamCloud hybrid mattress.
This bad boy combines high-density foam with encased coils for a sleeping experience that promises to be as lavish as it’s supportive.
To determine how well this hybrid lives up to that goal, I’ve put it through a series of tests to measure its overall comfort and ascertain what sort of sleeper would benefit from it most.

The DreamCloud features an astoundingly tall profile for a mattress at a whopping 15 inches. The eight-layer structure is broken down into foam and wrapped coil components, which work in tandem to provide the sleeper with a firm innerspring lift and plenty of comfy pressure relief.
Given all of the different materials at play here, I’m stoked to dive in these layers to see how well they interact together.
Cover: The cover is composed of a cashmere and polyester blend for a luxuriously soft feel up top. It is also quilted with memory foam, which provides the sleeper with immediate pressure relief.
Foam Layers: beneath the cover, you will find three thin layers of foam. When those segments are soft to the touch and provide some satisfying sinkage, they also respond quickly to pressure, so you won’t feel stuck at the mattress.
The center of the three layers is especially significant for the temperature regulation of the DreamCloud as it’s comprised of perforated latex foam. Latex in general is great at dissipating heat, so the inclusion of these miniature ventilations supports even more cooling.
These individually wrapped springs provide that the mattress excellent bounce and help to disperse motion throughout the structure.
The coils also help in regulating temperatures as the distances between them allow for steady air flow.
Foundation Layer: A thin coating of high-density polyfoam lies at the base of the mattress, with all the main function of cradling the pocketed coils and providing a sound base for the entire.
After taking a look at the construction of this DreamCloud, let’s chat about the firmness and texture .
I started off by applying light hand pressure to the mattress and instantly felt the soft foam of this quilted cover and top layers.
My hands sunk to the material and I could feel some instantaneous pressure relief. Pushing in further, I began to interact with the pocketed coils experienced a nice lift from springs.
At this point I’d love to remember that individuals of distinct body shapes and types will feel firmness otherwise .
Rather than giving only my view on the overall firmness level of the DreamCloud, I enlisted three other people to present their opinion as well.
This provides you a better sense of the firmness range you can expect from the mattress.
I personally gave the bed a 7.5 and agree with the remaining testers that it is definitely a strong bed.
As you will feel some slight sinking from the lavish foam top layers, the individually wrapped coils in the center will lift you out of that bed and make you feel like you are sleeping on top of the mattress. Best Bed To Buy A Boyd Air Mattress
Rather than just describing the sense of this DreamCloud for you, I wanted to provide a visual representation of where somebody may feel pressure points form while lying on it.
To do this, I put a pressure map along with the mattress and lied on my backside, and stomach. You can view the results on the picture below where pressure is represented from blue (low pressure) to red (high pressure).
Back: Once in my back, my weight was evenly dispersed across the mattress, so I didn’t feel like I was sinking to the bed whatsoever .
The quilted cover supplied quality relief in my lumbar area and the pocketed coils helped to lift me from the bed and keep my spine in alignment.
Side: As you can see in the chart above, after I rolled onto my side, I began to feel pressure forming at my shoulders and buttocks.
However, I felt encouraged and the top foam layers relieved what discomfort I felt in this position.
Stomach: Shifting over to my stomach, I thought the DreamCloud did a excellent job of lifting my hips up and out of the mattress, which is key for stomach sleepers.
I should mention that I managed to transition across these positions with comparative ease. Best Bed To Buy A Boyd Air Mattress
If you intend on sharing your bed with a spouse , you will wish to learn what it will feel like when another person crawls out of bed in the morning or tosses around in night.
This second test is meant to demonstrate the high level of motion that is detectable from 1 side of the mattress into the other.
To illustrate this motion transfer, I dropped a 10 lb. Steel ball from peaks of 4 inches, 8 inches and 12 inches and quantified the disturbance it caused: the bigger the lines, the larger the disturbance. The DreamCloud indicates a little bit of disturbance for the 4 inch drop, which simulates someone rolling around and adjusting their position on the contrary side of the mattress .
While the 8 and 12 inch drops series slightly larger spikes, I’d still look at the mattress to be quite good at isolating motion , thanks to the individually wrapped coils.
This usually means that you’re unlikely to be too disturbed by your bed spouse’s midnight shimmies, making this a great alternative for couples.
When buying a new mattress, many people want to know whether they will sense like they are sinking”into” the mattress or placing”on top” of it.
To visualize this sinkage, I put four balls of varying sizes and densities (a 6 pound medicine ball, a 10 pound steel ball, a 50 lb medicine ball, and a 100 pound medicine ball) on the mattress and measured how far they compressed the surface.
The variations in size, weight and density are meant to simulate different body parts and different sized sleepers.
- 6 lb medicine ball: 1.5 inches of sinkage.
- 10 lb steel ball: 2 inches of sinkage.
- 50 pound medication ball: 4.5 inches of sinkage.
- 100 pound medicine ball: 5.5 inches of sinkage.
As you’re likely to experience some instant sinkage from the soft foam on top, by the time you sink through these layers, you will hit on the wrapped coils and feel fantastic support.
This combo will interest a wide variety of sleepers, but will satisfy back and stomach sleepers particularly. Best Bed To Buy A Boyd Air Mattress
If you are going to share your bed with a partner and wish to utilize the whole surface area of the mattress, it’s going to be crucial for one to consider the amount of edge support it will provide.
I’m especially interested to see whether the DreamCloud will endure the exact same fate as other compressed bed-in-a-box mattresses which neglect to live up to the edge support of more traditional innerspring models.Lying on my spine, I felt supported at the edge of the bed as I did in the center.
Pressing closer to the side, I experienced a little compression because of the highest foam layers, but nothing too spectacular. Shifting to my side, I once again noticed compression in the foam layers, but it did not carry over into the wrapped coil system under.
This system, along with the polyfoam border support around the mattress, did a excellent job of supporting my weight. In this position, I wanted to simulate what it would feel like to be sitting on the bed in the morning when you are lacing up your shoes and getting ready for the day. A good deal of foam mattresses experience severe compression in this place, but the DreamCloud actually held up fairly well.
Warranty: DreamCloud’s Everlong warranty is a life guarantee.
