DreamCloud Mattress Review Best 4Wd Camping Mattress
I am super excited about now’s review since I’ll be taking check out one of this latest beds on the market: the DreamCloud hybrid mattress.
This bad boy unites high-density foam with encased coils for a sleeping experience that promises to be lavish as it is supportive.
To see how nicely this hybrid lives up to this goal, I’ve put it through a series of tests to measure its overall relaxation and determine what type of sleeper would benefit from it most.

The DreamCloud features an astoundingly tall profile for a mattress in a whopping 15 inches. The eight-layer construction is broken down into foam and wrapped coil parts, which work in tandem to provide the sleeper with a firm innerspring lift and lots of comfy pressure relief.
Given all the different materials at play here, I’m stoked to dive into these layers to see how well they interact together.
Cover: The cover is composed of a cashmere and polyester blend for a soft texture up top. It’s also quilted with memory foam, which provides the sleeper with immediate pressure relief.
Foam Layers: under the cover, you may locate three thin layers of foam. While these sections are soft to the touch and provide some satisfying sinkage, they also respond quickly to pressure, so you won’t feel trapped in the mattress.
The middle of the three layers is especially important for the temperature regulation of the DreamCloud as it’s comprised of perforated latex foam. Latex generally is great at dissipating heat, so the inclusion of these tiny ventilations promotes even more cooling.
Pocketed Coils: The bottom layer of foam transitions into the firmer support section of the mattress, which can be composed of a pocketed coil system.
These individually wrapped springs provide that the mattress excellent bounce and help to disperse motion throughout the structure.
The coils also help in regulating temperature as the distances between them allow for constant air flow.
Foundation Layer: A thin layer of high-density polyfoam lies in the base of the mattress, with all the main use of cradling the pocketed coils and giving a solid base for the entire.
After shooting a look at the construction of this DreamCloud, let us chat about the firmness and texture.
I started off by applying light hand pressure to the mattress and immediately felt the soft foam of the quilted cover and top layers.
My hands sunk into the material and I could feel some instantaneous pressure relief. Pushing in further, I began to interact with the pocketed coils experienced a pleasantlift from the springs.
At this time I’d love to remember that individuals of different body types and shapes will feel firmness otherwise .
Rather than giving just my view on the overall firmness level of the DreamCloud, I enlisted three other people to present their view as well.
I gave the bed a 7.5 and agree with the staying testers that it is definitely a solid bed.
As you will feel some little sinking from the lavish foam top layers, the individually wrapped coils in the center will lift you from the bed and make you feel as if you’re sleeping on top of the mattress. Best 4Wd Camping Mattress
Rather than simply describing the feel of the DreamCloud into you, I wanted to give a visual representation of where someone may feel pressure points contour while lying on it.
To do so, I placed a pressure map along with the mattress and lied on my backside, and stomach. You can view the effects on the picture below where pressure is represented from blue (low pressure) to red (high pressure).
Back: Once in my back, my weight was evenly distributed during the mattress, so I didn’t feel like I was sinking to the mattress whatsoever .
The quilted cover provided quality relief at my lumbar area and the pocketed coils helped to lift me from the bed and keep my spine in alignment.
Side: As you can see in the chart above, after I rolled onto my side, I started to sense pressure forming at my shoulders and hips.
However, I felt supported and the very best foam layers alleviated what distress I felt in this place.
Stomach: Shifting over to my stomach, I thought the DreamCloud did a excellent job of lifting my hips up and from the mattress , which is key for stomach sleepers.
I if mention that I handled to transition across these positions with relative ease. Best 4Wd Camping Mattress
If you plan on sharing your bed with a partner, you’ll wish to learn what it’ll feel like when another person crawls out of bed in the morning or tosses around in night.
This next test is meant to demonstrate that the intensity of movement that is detectable from 1 side of the mattress to the other.
To illustrate this motion transfer, I dropped a 10 lb. Steel ball from peaks of 4 inches, 8 inches and 12 inches and quantified the disturbance it caused: the bigger the lines, the bigger the disturbance. The DreamCloud shows a small amount of disturbance for the 4 inch drop, which simulates someone rolling around and adjusting their position on the opposite side of the mattress .
While the 8 and 12 inch drops series slightly larger spikes, I’d nevertheless consider the mattress to be fairly good at isolating movement, as a consequence of the individually wrapped coils.
This means you’re not likely to be overly disturbed by your bed mate’s midnight shimmies, which makes this a great alternative for couples.
If purchasing a new mattress, most people want to know whether they will sense like they’re sinking”into ” the mattress or putting “on top” of it.
To picture this sinkage, I put four balls of varying sizes and densities (a 6 pound medicine ball, a 10 pound steel ball, a 50 pound medicine ball, and a 100 pound medicine ball) on the mattress and quantified how much they compressed the surface.
The variations in size, density and weight are intended to simulate different body parts and different sized sleepers.
- 6 lb medicine ball: 1.5 inches of sinkage.
- 10 pound steel ball: 2 inches of sinkage.
- 50 pound medication ball: 4.5 inches of sinkage.
- 100 lb medication ball: 5.5 inches of sinkage.
As you are likely to experience some instant sinkage from the soft foam on top, by the time you sink through these layers, you will hit on the wrapped coils and feel fantastic support.
This combo will allure to a wide range of sleepers, but will satisfy back and stomach sleepers particularly. Best 4Wd Camping Mattress
If you’re likely to share your bed with a partner and need to utilize the whole surface area of the mattress, it’s likely to be crucial for you to consider the amount of border support it’ll provide.
I am especially interested to see if the DreamCloud will endure the exact same fate as other compressed bed-in-a-box mattresses which neglect to live up to the border support of more conventional innerspring models.Lying on my spine, I sensed as supported in the edge of the mattress as I did in the center.
Pressing closer to the side, I experienced a little compression due to the top foam layers, but nothing overly dramatic. Shifting to my side, I once again noticed compression at the foam layers, but it didn’t carry over into the wrapped coil system below.
This system, along with the polyfoam border support round the mattress, did a excellent job of supporting my weight. In this position, I wanted to simulate what it would feel like to be sitting on the bed in the morning when you’re lacing up your shoes and getting ready for the day. A lot of foam mattresses undergo severe compression in this position, but the DreamCloud actually held up fairly well.
