DreamCloud Mattress Review Best Mattress Reviews For Side Sleepers
I am super excited about now’s review because I’ll be having a look at a couple of of the latest beds on the market: the DreamCloud hybrid mattress.
This bad boy combines high-density foam with encased coils for a sleeping experience that promises to be as lavish as it is supportive.
To determine how nicely this hybrid lives up to that goal, I’ve put it through a series of tests to measure its overall comfort and determine what sort of sleeper could benefit from it .

CONSTRUCTION
The DreamCloud features an astoundingly tall profile for a mattress at a whopping 15 inches. The eight-layer structure is broken down into foam and wrapped coil parts , which operate in tandem to provide the sleeper with a firm innerspring lift and plenty of comfy pressure relief.
Given all of the different materials at play here, I’m stoked to dive in these layers to see how well they interact with one another.
Cover: The cover is written of a cashmere and polyester blend for a luxuriously soft texture up top. It’s also quilted with memory foam, which provides the sleeper with instant pressure relief.
Foam Layers: Below the cover, you’ll locate three thin layers of foam. While those sections are soft to the touch and supply some satisfying sinkage, they also respond quickly to stress, so that you won’t feel trapped in the mattress.
The middle of these three layers is especially significant for the temperature regulation of the DreamCloud as it is comprised of perforated latex foam. Latex generally is great at dissipating heat, so the inclusion of these tiny ventilations supports even more cooling.
Pocketed Coils: The bottom layer of foam transitions into the firmer support section of the mattress, which can be made up of a pocketed coil system.
These individually wrapped springs provide that the mattress excellent bounce and help to disperse motion throughout the structure.
The coils also aid in regulating temperatures as the spaces between them allow for steady air flow.
Foundation Layer: A thin coating of high-density polyfoam lies at the underside of the mattress, with all the main function of cradling the pocketed coils and providing a sound base for the entire .

FIRMNESS
After shooting a look at the construction of this DreamCloud, let us talk about the firmness and texture.
My hands sunk to the material and I could feel some instant pressure relief. Pushing in further, I began to interact with the pocketed coils under and experienced a pleasantlift from springs.
At this time I’d like to recall that people of distinct body shapes and types will feel firmness otherwise .
Rather than giving just my opinion on the overall firmness level of the DreamCloud, I enlisted three others to give their view as well.
Personally, I gave the bed a 7.5 and concur with the remainder of the testers that it’s definitely a good bed.
As you will feel some small sinking from the lavish foam top layers, the individually wrapped coils in the core will lift you out of this bed and make you feel as if you are sleeping on top of the mattress. Best Mattress Reviews For Side Sleepers
PRESSURE MAP
Instead of simply describing the sense of the DreamCloud for you, I wanted to give a visual representation of where somebody may feel pressure points shape while lying on it.
To do this, I put a pressure map on top of the mattress and lied on my backside, and stomach. You can view the effects on the picture under where pressure is represented from blue (low pressure) to red (high pressure).
Back: Once in my spine, my weight was evenly dispersed during the mattress, so I did not feel like I was sinking into the mattress whatsoever.
The quilted cover provided quality relief at my lumbar area and the pocketed coils helped to lift me from the mattress and keep my spine in alignment.
Side: As you can see in the graph above, after I rolled onto my side, I began to sense pressure forming in my shoulders and buttocks.
However, I nevertheless felt supported and the very best foam layers alleviated what distress I felt in this position.
Stomach: Switching over to my stomach, I thought the DreamCloud did a excellent job of lifting my hips up and from the bed, which is key for stomach sleepers.
I must mention that I managed to transition across these positions with comparative ease. Best Mattress Reviews For Side Sleepers
THE MATTRESS WITH A 365 NIGHT TRIAL & FOREVER WARRANTY
Should you plan on sharing your bed with a spouse , you’ll want to learn what it will feel like when another person crawls out of bed in the morning or tosses around at night.
This second test is intended to demonstrate that the intensity of movement that’s detectable from one side of the mattress to another.
To illustrate this motion transfer, I dropped a 10 lb. Steel ball from peaks of 4 inches, 8 inches and 12 inches and measured the disturbance it caused: the bigger the lines, the bigger the disturbance. The DreamCloud indicates a bit of disturbance for the 4 inch drop, which simulates someone rolling around and adjusting their position on the opposite side of the mattress.
While the 8 and 12 inch drops series slightly bigger spikes, I would still look at the mattress to be fairly good at isolating motion, thanks to the individually wrapped coils.
This usually means that you’re unlikely to be too disturbed by your mattress spouse’s midnight shimmies, which makes this a great option for couples.
When purchasing a new mattress , many people want to know whether they will sense like they are sinking”to” the mattress or laying”on top” of it.
To visualize this sinkage, I put four balls of varying sizes and densities (a 6 pound medicine ball, a 10 pound steel ball, a 50 pound medicine ball, and a 100 pound medicine ball) on the mattress and quantified how much they compressed the surface.
The variations in size, weight and density are intended to simulate different body parts and different sized sleepers.
- 6 lb medicine ball: 1.5 inches of sinkage.
- 10 pound steel ball: 2 inches of sinkage.
- 50 lb medication ball: 4.5 inches of sinkage.
- 100 pound medication ball: 5.5 inches of sinkage.
As you are likely to experience some instant sinkage from the soft foam on top, by the time you sink through these layers, you may hit on the wrapped coils and texture fantastic support.
This combo will appeal to a broad range of sleepers, but will satisfy back and stomach sleepers particularly. Best Mattress Reviews For Side Sleepers
If you are going to share your bed with a spouse and need to utilize the entire surface area of the mattress, it is likely to be crucial that you consider the amount of border support it will provide.
I’m especially interested to see whether the DreamCloud will endure the exact same fate as other compressed bed-in-a-box mattresses which neglect to live up to the edge support of more traditional innerspring models.Lying on my back, I felt as supported at the edge of the bed as I did at the middle .
Pressing closer to the side, I experienced a small compression due to the highest foam layers, but nothing overly dramatic. Shifting to my side, I once again noticed compression in the foam layers, but it didn’t carry over into the wrapped coil system under.
This system, along with the polyfoam border support around the mattress, did a excellent job of supporting my weight. A lot of foam mattresses undergo intense compression in this place, but the DreamCloud actually held up fairly well.
