DreamCloud Mattress Review Best Air Mattress For Everyday Use
I’m super excited about now’s review because I’ll be having check out one of the latest beds on the market: the DreamCloud hybrid mattress.
This bad boy combines high-density foam with encased coils to get a sleeping experience that promises to be as luxurious as it’s supportive.
To see how well this hybrid lives up to this goal, I have put it through a series of tests to measure its overall comfort and ascertain what sort of sleeper would benefit from it most.

The DreamCloud features an astoundingly tall profile to get a mattress at a whopping 15 inches. The eight-layer construction is broken down into foam and wrapped coil components, which work in tandem to provide the sleeper with a firm innerspring lift and lots of comfy pressure relief.
Given all the different substances at play here, I’m stoked to dive into these layers to see how well they interact together.
Cover: The cover is made up of a cashmere and polyester blend for a luxuriously soft texture up top. It also is quilted with memory foam, which provides the sleeper with instant pressure relief.
Foam Layers: Below the cover, you may find three thin layers of foam. When those segments are soft to the touch and supply some pleasing sinkage, they also respond quickly to stress, so that you won’t feel trapped at the mattress.
The center of those three layers is especially important for the temperature regulation of the DreamCloud as it is comprised of perforated latex foam. Latex in general is great at dissipating heat, so the inclusion of these tiny ventilations promotes even more cooling.
These individually wrapped springs provide the bed excellent bounce and help to disperse motion throughout the structure.
The coils also aid in regulating temperature as the distances between them allow for continuous air flow.
Foundation Layer: A thin coating of high-density polyfoam lies in the bottom of the mattress, with the main use of cradling the pocketed coils and giving a solid base for the entire.
After taking a look at the building of the DreamCloud, let’s chat about the firmness and texture .
I started off by applying light hand pressure to the mattress and immediately felt the soft foam of the quilted cover and top layers.
My hands sunk into the material and I could feel some instantaneous pressure relief. Pushing in further, I began to interact with the pocketed coils experienced a nicelift from the springs.
At this stage I’d like to remember that individuals of distinct body shapes and types will feel firmness otherwise.
Rather than giving only my opinion on the overall firmness level of the DreamCloud, I enlisted three other people to present their opinion as well.
I gave the bed a 7.5 and concur with the remainder of the testers that it is definitely a good bed.
While you’ll feel some slight sinking from the lavish foam top layers, the individually wrapped coils in the core will lift you from that bed and make you feel like you’re sleeping on top of the mattress. Best Air Mattress For Everyday Use
Rather than just describing the sense of the DreamCloud for you, I wanted to provide a visual representation of where someone may feel pressure points contour while lying on it.
To do this, I put a pressure map in addition to the mattress and lied on my back, side, and tummy. You can view the effects on the image below where pressure is represented from blue (low pressure) to red (high pressure).
Back: Once in my spine, my weight was evenly distributed across the mattress, so I didn’t feel like I was sinking to the mattress at all .
The quilted cover provided quality relief in my lumbar area and the pocketed coils helped to lift me from the mattress and keep my spine in alignment.
Side: As you can see in the graph above, after I rolled onto my side, I started to sense pressure forming in my shoulders and buttocks.
However, I felt supported and the top foam layers alleviated what distress I felt in this position.
Stomach: Shifting over to my stomach, I thought the DreamCloud did a great job of lifting my hips up and from the mattress , which is key for stomach sleepers.
I have to mention that I managed to transition across these places with comparative ease. Best Air Mattress For Everyday Use
If you intend on sharing your bed with a spouse , you may want to learn what it will feel like when another person crawls out of bed in the morning or tosses around through the night.
This next test is intended to demonstrate that the high level of motion that is detectable from 1 side of the mattress into another.
To illustrate this movement transfer, I dropped a 10 pounds. Steel ball from peaks of 4 inches, 8 inches and 12 inches and quantified the disturbance it caused: the larger the lines, the bigger the disturbance. The DreamCloud indicates a little amount of disturbance for the 4 inch drop, which simulates someone rolling around and adjusting their position on the other side of the bed.
While the 8 and 12 inch drops reveal slightly larger spikes, I would nevertheless look at the mattress to be quite good at isolating movement, thanks to its individually wrapped coils.
This means you’re improbable to be too disturbed by your mattress partner’s midnight shimmies, making this a great option for couples.
When buying a new mattress , many individuals want to know whether they’ll feel like they are sinking”into” the mattress or placing”on top” of it.
To visualize this sinkage, I placed four chunks of varying sizes and densities (a 6 lb medicine ball, a 10 pound steel ball, a 50 lb medicine ball, and a 100 pound medicine ball) on the mattress and quantified how far they compressed the surface.
The variations in size, density and weight are supposed to simulate different body parts and different sized sleepers.
- 10 pound steel ball: 2 inches of sinkage.
- 50 pound medication ball: 4.5 inches of sinkage.
- 100 pound medication ball: 5.5 inches of sinkage.
As you are going to experience some instant sinkage from the soft foam on top, by the time you sink through these layers, you will hit the wrapped coils and feel fantastic support.
This combo will allure to a broad range of sleepers, but will suit back and stomach sleepers particularly. Best Air Mattress For Everyday Use
If you are going to share your bed with a partner and need to use the entire surface area of the mattress, it is going to be crucial for you to consider the quantity of edge support it’ll provide.
I’m particularly interested to see if the DreamCloud will endure the same fate as other compressed bed-in-a-box mattresses which fail to meet the edge support of more traditional innerspring models.Lying in my back, I sensed supported at the edge of the mattress as I did in the middle .
Pressing closer to the side, I experienced a little compression due to the top foam layers, but nothing too dramatic. Changing to my side, I once again noticed compression at the foam layers, but it didn’t carry over to the wrapped coil system under.
This system, along with the polyfoam border support round the mattress, did a excellent job of supporting my weight. In this position, I wanted to simulate what it would feel like to be sitting on the bed in the morning when you are lacing up your shoes and getting ready for the day. A good deal of foam mattresses experience intense compression in this place, but the DreamCloud actually held up fairly well.
