Stuffed Baked Apples with a Bourbon Caramel Sauce




  • 5-6 Large Apples (Crisp Pink)
  • 1 ¼ cup French loaf Bread (shredded)
  • 2 eggs
  • ¼ cup Brown Sugar
  • 1 cup Heavy Cream
  • ½ tsp. Cinnamon
  • ¼ tsp. Nutmeg
  • ¼ cup Walnuts (chopped)
  • ¼ cup Dried Cranberries or Raisins


  1. Preheat grill at indirect heat to 375 – 400 F.
  2. Hollow out the apples allowing ¼ inch sides.
  3. Combine eggs, heavy cream, sugar, cinnamon, and nutmeg and mix.
  4. In a medium mixing bowl, combine the bread and the egg mixture and mix well.
  5. Add all of the other ingredients and mix.
  6. Fill apples with the bread mixture.
  7. Bake for 25 – 30 minutes, or until a knife comes out clean when inserted into the middle.
  8. Top with Bourbon Caramel Sauce and Serve warm!
Bourbon Caramel Sauce:
  1. In a small Dutch oven, combine 2 tbsp. of butter and 1 cup of brown sugar.
  2. Place it on a 400 F
  3. Grill and allow to melt stirring occasionally.
  4. Once the butter and sugar is melted together, carefully add ¼ cup of Bourbon. Once it flamed up, add ¼ cup of Heavy Cream. Allow the
  5. mixture to come to a boil and then cook for 1-2 minute while stirring.
  6. Remove from the heat and set aside – sauce will thicken slightly. Serve warm with the apples!
