Bacon and Cheese Bread

Ingredients

 

  • 4 cups all purpose flour
  • 1 tsp. sugar
  • 1 tsp. salt
  • 1 pack instant dry yeast
  • 2 cups lukewarm water
  • 1 ½ cup Bacon (cooked and chopped)
  • 2 cups cheddar cheese

Directions

 

  1. Preheat oven or grill (indirect) to 350 F.
  2. In a large bowl combine the flour, sugar, salt and instant dry yeast.
  3. Add the water and start kneading until the mixture comes into dough. You may have to use a little more water depending on where you are located.
  4. Once the dough is into a pliable ball, rub hands lightly in olive oil and rub it on top of the dough. Cover the bowl with plastic wrap and place in a slightly warm area.
  5. Allow dough to rise for 30-40 minutes. Should double in size.
  6. Rub hands in olive oil, then remove dough from bowl and flatten with the back of your hand.
  7. Sprinkle the bacon and cheese onto the dough and then start to roll it up. Once it’s rolled up, twist it around to seal off edges.
  8. Bake for 1 hour or until it makes a hollow sounds when you knock the top of the dough with your knuckles. Should be nice and golden.
  9. Enjoy with a slice of butter!
